1. Independent service
Quokka Watch is an independent service. We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or connected to the Rottnest Island Authority (RIA). All bookings are made directly on the official rottnestisland.com website. We have no influence over availability, pricing, ballot results, or booking outcomes.
2. What we provide
Quokka Watch periodically checks the publicly available Rottnest Island accommodation pages and sends best-effort email notifications when availability matching your stated criteria appears. We do not hold, reserve, or book accommodation on your behalf, you complete every booking yourself on rottnestisland.com.
3. No guarantee of availability or booking success
Rottnest Island availability changes rapidly. Listings can appear and disappear within minutes, may be taken by another guest between our checks, and may become unavailable before you complete checkout.
Our alerts are best-effort notifications only. They are not a reservation, a hold, or a guarantee that the listing will still be available when you act on the email. We make no guarantee that availability will appear during your watch period, that you will be the first to book, or that every change will be detected.
4. Service interruptions and third-party dependencies
The service depends on external systems we do not control, including the Rottnest Island booking website and various third-party providers. Service may be temporarily interrupted, delayed, or stopped due to:
- scheduled maintenance or unscheduled downtime;
- upstream availability or API outages;
- third-party service failures (hosting, email, payments);
- changes to the Rottnest Island website, booking system, or terms of use.
We do not guarantee uninterrupted 24/7 operation and may pause, modify, or discontinue the service at any time.
5. Email delivery
Email delivery is handled by third-party providers and cannot be guaranteed. Spam filters, provider throttling, and routing delays may cause notifications to be delayed, filtered, or undelivered.
You are responsible for providing a correct, current email address and for checking your junk/spam folder. We are not liable for missed bookings caused by undelivered, delayed, or filtered emails.
6. Plans and payment
Watches are one-off purchases via secure checkout in AUD.
- Starter ($9): 1 area per watch, exact travel dates, 30-day active tracking.
- Flexible ($29): 2 watches, up to 3 areas per watch, flexible dates and stay length (30-day travel window), 60-day active tracking per watch.
- Power ($59): 4 watches, up to 4 areas per watch, flexible dates and stay length (45-day travel window), 90-day active tracking per watch. Each watch can be started any time in the 3 months after purchase; travel dates can be any future date Rottnest has open. Customers who purchased Power before 18 June 2026 keep their original entitlement of up to 5 areas per watch.
- We are not currently registered for Australian GST.
Each watch covers our work hunting cancellations on your behalf, not booking outcomes. Because we begin that work the moment you confirm, watches are non-refundable once active. If something hasn't worked the way it should, get in touch and we'll make it right.
7. Acceptable use
You agree not to abuse the service, attempt to circumvent the plan limits or activation rules, share account credentials, or use the service to facilitate any unlawful activity.
8. Account termination
We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms. You may delete your account at any time via your dashboard.
9. Limitation of liability
The service is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, either express or implied. We do not warrant that the service will be uninterrupted, timely, secure, or error-free.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Quokka Watch is not liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, or consequential loss or damage arising from:
- missed, delayed, or unsuccessful bookings;
- delayed, missed, filtered, or undelivered alerts;
- third-party outages or failures;
- changes to the Rottnest Island website or booking system;
- any other use of, or inability to use, the service.
Nothing in these terms excludes rights you have under Australian Consumer Law that cannot be excluded.
10. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of Western Australia, Australia. Any dispute arising out of or in connection with these terms is subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Western Australia.
11. Changes
We may update these terms from time to time. Continued use of the service after changes are published constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
